When Paresh Rawal reminded Payal Ghosh of her dad!

As Paresh Rawal turned 65, his friends and colleagues and co-stars across Twitter and other social media started wishing him.

Actors, filmmakers and directors were all there wishing and posting throwback pictures of work with the prolific performer whose comic performances often stole the credit from his brilliant rendering of serious characters as well.

A young actress by the name of Payal Ghosh, who has featured earlier in Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi told us the experience of working with the versatile performer who has always nailed it on the big screen despite how good or bad the films may be.

'Pareshji is a nice human being and we share a good rapport. In fact, I never felt that I was acting with him because he reminded me of my own father. We were shooting a sequence in which we had an argument because I wanted to do something and he was stopping me from doing it. I could relate it to the time when I told my dad that I wanted to be an actress and he was dissuading me because he was quite protective. Though Pareshji's character thinks children aren't capable of making the right decisions, in real life, he lets his kids pursue their dreams. He told me how he is always supportive of his sons' decisions,” says Payal about the actor.

Usually when an actor’s birthday is being celebrated – a hashtag called - #HappyBirthdayPareshRawal would have trended. But in this case, Paresh’s character of Baburao in the film Hera Pheri – which recently completed 20 years ended up trending. Hera Pheri memes were the order of the day and #HappyBirthdayBabubhai trended.

There are certainly times when a character becomes much bigger than the actor itself. In the case of this cult film, it surely was. Not that we are trying to take away anything from the versatile performer. Happy Birthday Paresh!
