Why Karan Johar never wants to act again

Updated: May 25, 2020

Karan Johar whose first screen appearance during his assistant director days with Aditya Chopra was in a scene where he played Shah Rukh Khan’s friend in the film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge, feels that he has had enough of acting.

The filmmaker who was last working on his magnum opus Takht- called his debutant actor from Student Of the Year – Varun Dhawan to wish him on his birthday on a live Instagram chat.

Karan who obviously dyes his hair at a salon has not done so in the past few weeks of lockdown and came out with his silver lining hairstyle prompting Varun to say that he looked like a “bond villain”.

Karan’s repartee quickly came to the fore when he said, “The last time I played a villain, it was in the film Bombay Velvet and you know how that went. I think, I am scarred by playing villain altogether. I don’t think I should ever try and act again,” says Johar.

Incidentally other films that Karan has been seen in are Kal Ho Na Ho, Hasee Toh Phasee, Shaandaar, Welcome To New York and in songs from Simmba and Good Newwz.
